This competition is for hunters, mares or geldings, 4 years old or over, to be ridden. Riders must be 15 years of age or over. All Riders, Owners and Producers must be Members of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the British Show Horse Association. Registration numbers must be quoted on the entry form. Entries in the three weight classes are not eligible to enter the Small Hunter Class and vice versa. Competitors must enter their horses in the appropriate classes and the judge will have the power to transfer exhibits to the appropriate weight class. The lightweight class will be judged first, followed by the middleweight and heavyweight. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. Only horses registered with the BSHA are eligible to enter.Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association, however the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook will take precedence, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk.

Classes 66 - 69 are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 3rd - 7th October 2018. In the Lightweight Show Hunter, Middleweight Show Hunter, Heavyweight Show Hunter and Small Show Hunter Classes, the highest placed unqualified horse in the first three will qualify to enter at the Horse of the Year Show. Qualification will not pass below 3rd place, with the exception of the BSHA National Championship Show. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office.
The Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) will award Special Incentive Cards to the highest placed Irish Draught Pure Bred or Irish Draught Sport Horse in Classes 66 - 69. To be eligible, exhibits must be registered with or overstamped by the IDHS (GB) and in the correct ownership on either their Irish Draught Breed Registers or Irish Draught Sport Horse Registers. Registration numbers to be stated on the entry form.
Entries in the Ridden Hunter Classes 65 - 69 are not eligible to be entered in Riding Horse Classes 70 & 71.
Classes 66 - 69
Entry fee - £32 (This includes a Horse of the Year Show Contribution of £12.00 per entry)

CLASS 65 - NOVICE HUNTER
Mare or gelding, 4 years old or over that has not been awarded a first prize of £60 value or a total of £200 (or equivalent value) in any Ridden Hunter class at any show at home or abroad.
CLASS 66 - CATPLANT GROUP OF COMPANIES LTD LIGHTWEIGHT SHOW HUNTER OF THE YEAR
Horse of the Year Show Qualifier. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 158cms, capable of carrying up to 79.5 kgs (12 stone 7lbs) and under.
CLASS 67 - CATPLANT GROUP OF COMPANIES LTD MIDDLEWEIGHT SHOW HUNTER OF THE YEAR
Horse of the Year Show Qualifier. Mare or gelding, 4yrs old or over, exceeding 158cms, capable of carrying 79.5kgs (12 stone 7 lbs) and not exceeding 89kgs (14 stone).
CLASS 68 - CATPLANT GROUP OF COMPANIES LTD HEAVYWEIGHT SHOW HUNTER OF THE YEAR
Horse of the Year Show Qualifier. Mare or gelding, 4 yrs old or over, exceeding 158cms, capable of carrying over 89kgs (14 stone).
CLASS 69 - SMALL SHOW HUNTER OF THE YEAR
Horse of the Year Show Qualifier. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 158cms.
Ridden Hunter Championship
The 1st & 2nd prize winners from Classes 66 - 69 are eligible to compete in the Championship. The Champion & Reserve Champion to go forward to the Frank Hewitt Hunter Champion of Champions. Ring and time to be announced.
T19 The HOLLYHILL PERPETUAL TROPHY, kindly donated by Mrs Christine Draycott, will be awarded to the Champion Ridden Show Hunter.
