Main Ring Entertainment

Stampede Stunt Company

We are delighted to announce that the Stampede Stunt Company Display Team will be putting on a unique non-stop display of trick riding and jousting.  The very talented riders will be incorporating their latest heart stopping tricks, using speed and agility.  Between displays, the public are invited to their interactive stand where they can meet the riders and horses.

Cyril the Squirrel and his racing team

We are also pleased to welcome Cyril the Squirrel who is always a crowd pleaser for all the whole family.

The Main Ring programme will again be opened by a marching band at 12 noon and close the Show at approximately 17.30 hrs.

There will be the parade of hounds, with the Atherstone Hunt, North Warwickshire Beagles and the South Notts Beagles taking part. After a display the huntsmen will invite all the children into the ring to meet with the hounds.

Vintage Tractors

A display of tractors, steam engines and machinery will be on show. All restored to their finer glory by real enthusiasts. Many of the tractors will parade around the Main Ring at 11.00am.

Grand Parade

This is a wonderful opportunity to see many of the spectacular animals that have been in the judging rings during the morning. The 2013 President of the Ashby Agricultural Society, Mr John Shields, will award the Breed Champions their winners trophies.

Modern Machinery
Due to the adverse weather conditions this year, only a few of the modern machines were on display.  We hope that this year we can have the same success of 2011 where we saw some of the largest Combines, Sprayers and Drills in the country. This display will follow the Vintage Tractor parade around the Main Ring.

Private Driving
After the preliminary judging and Show Drive, the competitors parade in the Main Ring, at 16.15, for the final judging. It is always a magnificent sight to see the immaculate turnouts in full flow during their display.

Light Horse & Ponies
There will be a huge variety of horses & ponies to see, from the Miniature Shetlands, Welsh Ponies and Side Saddle, right up to the majestic Ridden Hunters. Their owners and riders have spent hours preparing for their event.

Shire Horses
Classes are held in the Main Ring and are always popular with the public, who love to see these huge, stunning horses.
