Welcome to Ashby Show
The 99th Ashby Show will take place on Sunday, 14th July, 2013, at Cattows Farm, Heather, Leics, LE67 2TD. Tickets are now available online.
Cattows Farm is a diverse business, run by the Ludlam family, who have been farming in the village of Heather since 1899. Soft fruit, vegetables and arable crops are grown on the 300 acres and alongside these, they also run a herd of cows. The farm also boasts a thriving farm shop and popular tea rooms as well as hosting successful annual events, including the Strawberry Fields Music Festival and Ashby Show. We thank the Ludlam family for their support and hope we will have many years at this fabulous new ground.
Ashby Show is a hugely popular, traditional one-day agricultural show and attracting an average attendance of 16,000, is one of the biggest in the Midlands. Set in the English countryside, in the heart of the National Forest, the show is committed to the support of agriculture and the drawing together of town and country. With livestock still being an important part of the show, there are classes for horses, cattle, sheep and small livestock as well as show jumping.
There is something for everyone and this year the Stampede Stunt Company will be entertaining the crowds with their amazing trick riding and jousting skills. Also in the Main Ring programme for 2013 will be the Cyril the Squirrel and his Racing Terriers who are always great entertainment for all the family. The Vintage Tractors and Modern Machinery will be putting on an interesting display and also the Atherstone Hunt & North Warks Beagles. The Grand Parade of prizewinning livestock and horses will also take place in the Main Ring. The day's entertainment will be opened and closed by the 1st Ibstock Scout band.
New for 2013 will be a parade of the very rare and unique Caspian Horses, who are hold their own breed show within Ashby Show. We also have lots of new things to keep children entertained at the Show, so look out for these. We also have young people from the Sir John Moore Foundation, who will have a very interactive stand at the Show that you will be able to get involved with.
There will be a huge variety of trade stands, for those of you who like shopping, plus the British Farm Produce Marquee, Rural Craft Area, Craft Marquee, Shopping Marquee, WI Marquee, Dog Show, Small Livestock & Foreign Bird Marquees, archery and much much more. There is something to entertain everyone attending the Show and this all makes it a ‘must’ on the social calendar for all of you who come back year after year.
Trade stand applications are now available and early application is advised as we had completely sold out for 2012. If you would like to promote your business and get involved with the Show as a Sponsor or Member, more information is available on this site on the Sponsorship and Membership tabs.
